The National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) was founded in 1893 at the Jewish Women's Congress of the Columbian Exposition in Chicago. Mrs. Pauline Rosenberg founded the Pittsburgh Section in 1894 and this became the fourth section of NCJW. The Pittsburgh Section was called the Columbian Council until May 1906.
